I was really impressed with how seriously the class took play one another’s ancient civilization games.  Everyone put a great deal of time and effort into creating them and it was fun to finally see them played.  We’ll invite Mr. Baird’s class over tomorrow to play them one last time before they go home.

If we wrote in our agendas, which we didn’t, we would have written:

  • report cards go home tomorrow
  • Friday, June 25 is the last day of school (in case no one told you that!)

We didn’t write in our agendas today but if we did we would have written:

  • a variety of notebooks and work was sent home today.
  • indoor phys. ed. on Friday.  Remember a change of clothes.
  • we will get to play each others’ ancient civilization board games on Tuesday.  This is largely an at school project. Students are welcome to bring materials from home to add to their board game if they wish but it is not a requirement!

Mr. Baird took this picture at Upper Canada Village last week.

I hope everyone enjoyed visiting the Medieval/Pioneer Life Fair today.  Mrs. Booth’s and Mrs. Faulkner’s classes sure put a lot of time and effort into their projects. Congratulations!

In your agenda:

  • Outdoor phys. ed. is tomorrow.  Dress accordingly!
  • Remember: ancient civilization board games will be tested next Tuesday.

Thanks, Talia, for bringing in this picture.  It’s a rubbing of one of the symbols found on an Mayan temple.

Here’s another site we used to learn about algebra.  We found the 3 X 3 grid pretty easy to do once we found the first “key” to unlock.  We found 3 X 4 grids much hard.  Leave a comment if you figure out a way to solve those!

Algebra Puzzle

In your agenda:

  • some students have library books that need to be returned
  • some students might decide to bring in pictures and research for their board game

In your agenda today:

  • those of you who in track and field remember to be at school for 7:50 am.   so the buses can leave at 8:00 am.  Remember, we won’t return to ALC until 4:30 – 5:00 pm.  Please make arrangements to get home!
  • a letter about our unit on human growth and development was sent home today.  We will be starting Wednesday, June 9.
